Peninsula Arts Society

(159 Overport Road, Frankston South, VIC):

Art classes:

Monday Mornings 10am-12pm
Oil Painting for Beginners
Introducing mediums, brushes, colour theory, ways of working loosely but accurately in order to achieve impressionistic effects. Topics covered will include still life, land/seascapes and portraiture. Classes will involve step by step demonstrations and instructions. However, slavish copying is not the aim. Instead, you will be encouraged to find your own voice. We have fun in my classes and no-one ever gets told off for "not doing it right". Although this is a painting course it will also improve your drawing skills.
8 week course (next term starts 22nd July)
Cost is  $144

Tuesday Mornings 10am-12pm
All mediums - All levels – All welcome!
The format of these classes is that people bring whatever they want to work on, in whatever medium (health and safety permitting). Nic goes round giving individual tuition and guidance in order to help people along their own artistic journeys. The class is very friendly and there is also a great deal of mutual support among the members.
10 week class (next term starts 15th July)
Cost is  $180

Nic is only taking on students who can commit to a whole term, i.e. no casual basis.

Drawing For Beginners (1 term):

Maybe you enjoy drawing as hobby. Or maybe you believe you can't even draw a stick figure. This course will tool you up so much you won't even recognise your previous efforts as being by the same person. Everyone leaves significantly more able and enjoying their creativity more than they could ever have imagined. Some have come thinking they couldn't draw and left getting commissions for pet portraits.

Photoshop Workshops (4 wks):

  1. Analytical tools for improving your artistic skills
  2. Editing photos for print/web
  3. Making Art I – Manipulating Images/Caricatures
  4. Making Art II – Collage/Photo-montage

Although she no longer teaches there, Nic would also like to acknowledge the two wonderful years she had at Dromana Community House... Big call out to Claddgha and Kerrie in particular - Thanks guys!
